Onix Renewable Ltd has reinforced its commitment to India’s clean energy transition by signing a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Vibrant Gujarat 2026, held at Marwadi University, Rajkot. The MoU marks a significant step in the company’s strategic roadmap to scale renewable energy generation, green fuels, and power infrastructure development across Gujarat.
The MoU was signed by Divyesh Savaliya, Chairman & Managing Director, Onix Renewable Ltd, in the presence of Rushikesh Patel, Honorable Minister for Energy and Petrochemicals, Government of Gujarat. The signing underscores Onix Renewable’s alignment with Gujarat’s vision of becoming a global hub for sustainable and clean energy solutions.
Strategic Vision Aligned with National Priorities
Details of the MoU were presented by Hardik Adhiya, Chief Operating Officer, Onix Renewable Ltd, who outlined a comprehensive portfolio of high-impact renewable energy and infrastructure projects. These initiatives are aligned with national priorities for energy security, decarbonisation, rural development, and employment generation.
The proposed projects strongly resonate with the long-standing vision of Narendra Modi, under the Vibrant Gujarat framework, which has consistently positioned Gujarat as a frontrunner in renewable energy adoption and industrial growth.
Leadership in PM-KUSUM Component-C Projects
Onix Renewable has emerged as a market leader under the PM-KUSUM Component-C scheme in Gujarat, playing a critical role in decentralised solar power generation at the distribution level. The company has been recognised as the First Winner for Charging the Highest Number of Solar Projects in Gujarat under PM-KUSUM-C, highlighting its execution excellence, speed of commissioning, and strong coordination with state utilities.
This achievement reflects the company’s proven ability to deliver large-scale, grid-connected solar projects that contribute to reduced technical losses, improved grid reliability, and enhanced power availability for agricultural consumers across rural Gujarat.
Green Ammonia Production Facility in Rajkot District
As part of its long-term green fuels strategy, Onix Renewable Ltd has proposed the establishment of a Green Ammonia production facility at Fulzar, Taluka Vinchiya, District Rajkot. The project involves a proposed investment of ₹10,000 crore and is expected to create approximately 1,500 employment opportunities.
Commercial operations for the green ammonia facility are targeted to commence in 2028. Once operational, the project will play a pivotal role in supporting India’s emerging green hydrogen and green ammonia ecosystem, contributing to national decarbonisation goals and positioning Gujarat as a key player in global green fuel supply chains.
Expansion of PM-KUSUM-C Projects Across Gujarat
In addition to green fuels, Onix Renewable has proposed the implementation of PM-KUSUM Component-C solar projects at multiple locations across Gujarat, with total proposed investments of ₹121 crore and ₹280 crore. These projects are scheduled to commence in 2026 and are expected to generate around 680 direct and indirect employment opportunities.
The projects will significantly enhance decentralised solar generation capacity, strengthen distribution networks, and improve energy access for agricultural and rural consumers, further supporting Gujarat’s clean energy and rural development objectives.
Underground Cable Infrastructure Development
To improve power system resilience and modernise distribution infrastructure, the company has also proposed underground cable works at multiple locations, with a planned investment of ₹75 crore. These projects are expected to commence in 2026 and generate approximately 200 employment opportunities.
The underground cabling initiative is aimed at improving safety, reliability, and operational efficiency of the power network while reducing outages and maintenance challenges associated with overhead lines.
Commitment to Sustainable and Inclusive Growth
Collectively, the projects outlined in the MoU reflect Onix Renewable Ltd.’s unwavering commitment to sustainable development, technological innovation, and inclusive economic growth. By integrating renewable power generation, green fuel production, and robust power infrastructure, the company aims to make a meaningful contribution to India’s net-zero ambitions and Gujarat’s leadership in the renewable energy sector.
The MoU signed at Vibrant Gujarat 2026 represents a significant milestone in Onix Renewable Ltd.’s journey toward building a cleaner, greener, and more resilient energy future for India.
