Kosol Energie Signs ₹90,000 Cr Renewable Energy MoU at Vibrant Gujarat 2026

Kosol Energie Pvt. Ltd. has reinforced its long-term commitment to India’s clean energy transformation by signing a landmark ₹90,000 crore Investment Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2026, held on January 12, 2026, in Rajkot. The agreement represents one of the largest renewable energy investment commitments announced at the summit and marks a major milestone in Gujarat’s ambition to emerge as a global clean energy hub.

The MoU was signed in the esteemed presence of Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, and Bhupendrabhai Patel, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, alongside senior government officials and leading industrialists. The occasion underscored Gujarat’s leadership role in driving India’s renewable energy growth and industrial self-reliance.

Strategic Alignment with National Vision

Led by Kalpesh Kalthia, Chairman & Managing Director, Kosol Energie, the proposed investment is strategically aligned with the Government of India’s flagship initiatives, including Make in India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and Viksit Bharat @ 2047.

Kosol Energie’s investment roadmap focuses on building a future-ready clean energy ecosystem, with solar energy, green hydrogen, and green ammonia identified as the core pillars of long-term growth. These segments are expected to play a decisive role in India’s decarbonisation strategy, industrial competitiveness, and energy security.

Building Advanced Solar Manufacturing and R&D Capabilities

A significant portion of the ₹90,000 crore investment will be directed toward establishing advanced solar module manufacturing facilities in Gujarat. These facilities will leverage next-generation technologies to produce high-efficiency solar modules for both domestic deployment and global export markets.

In parallel, Kosol Energie plans to set up state-of-the-art research and development (R&D) centres, aimed at accelerating innovation in photovoltaic technologies, energy storage integration, and system optimisation. By strengthening in-house R&D capabilities, the company aims to enhance product performance, reduce costs, and maintain global competitiveness in an increasingly technology-driven solar market.

Large-Scale Renewable Parks and Integrated Green Energy Ecosystems

Beyond manufacturing, the MoU outlines plans for the development of large-scale renewable energy parks, including utility-scale solar installations and integrated clean energy infrastructure. These projects are expected to contribute significantly to Gujarat’s renewable capacity addition while supporting grid stability and long-term energy planning.

Kosol Energie also envisions the creation of integrated green energy ecosystems, where renewable power generation is combined with green hydrogen and green ammonia production. Such integrated models are increasingly seen as critical for decarbonising hard-to-abate sectors such as fertilisers, chemicals, refining, and heavy industry.

Expanding into Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia

The investment commitment highlights Kosol Energie’s intent to play a meaningful role in India’s emerging green hydrogen and green ammonia economy. By leveraging renewable power for electrolysis-based hydrogen production and downstream ammonia synthesis, the company aims to support India’s ambitions to become a global exporter of green fuels.

Green hydrogen and ammonia are expected to be key enablers of industrial decarbonisation and energy exports, particularly as global markets seek low-carbon alternatives to conventional fuels.

Employment Generation and Economic Impact

In addition to strengthening clean energy infrastructure, the ₹90,000 crore investment is expected to deliver significant socio-economic benefits. Kosol Energie estimates that the initiative will generate over one lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities, spanning manufacturing, project development, operations, logistics, and allied services.

The projects are also expected to stimulate regional economic growth, encourage skill development, and foster international collaborations in renewable energy technologies and green industrial development. Gujarat’s strong industrial base, skilled workforce, and supportive policy environment position it well to attract such large-scale investments.

Strengthening Gujarat’s Clean Energy Leadership

The MoU further cements Gujarat’s status as a preferred destination for renewable energy investments. With proactive policies, robust infrastructure, and a track record of successful project execution, the state continues to attract both domestic and global players across solar, wind, storage, and green fuels.

Kosol Energie’s commitment is expected to act as a catalyst for additional investments, reinforcing Gujarat’s role as a global hub for clean energy manufacturing and innovation.

A Long-Term Commitment to Sustainable Growth

Commenting on the occasion, company leadership highlighted that the MoU reflects Kosol Energie’s belief in long-term value creation rather than short-term opportunities. By combining scale, technology, and sustainability, the company aims to contribute meaningfully to India’s clean energy transition and industrial self-reliance.

As India moves toward its 2047 development goals and net-zero commitments, investments of this scale are expected to play a crucial role in shaping a secure, sustainable, and globally competitive energy future.
