GRE Renew Enertech Limited has been awarded a 1 MW (1,000 kW) grid-connected rooftop solar power project at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).
The project will be developed, owned, and operated by GRE Renew Enertech under the Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO) model. This structure allows the use of solar power without any upfront capital investment from the government entity, supporting India’s push toward sustainable public infrastructure.
Aligned with the Government of India’s clean energy objectives, the project highlights the increasing adoption of renewable energy solutions across prominent public institutions. Under the RESCO framework, GRE Renew Enertech will take full responsibility for the system’s design, installation, operation, and long-term maintenance.
Once commissioned, the rooftop solar installation is expected to reduce the Rashtrapati Bhavan’s reliance on conventional grid-based electricity while contributing to lower carbon emissions.
Commenting on the development, Mr. Kamlesh Patel, Managing Director of GRE Renew Enertech Limited, said that the company is honored to be associated with a project of national significance and to support the transition to clean energy within public assets.
As outlined in SECI’s scope of work, the project includes engineering, erection, testing, and commissioning of the solar system, along with comprehensive operations and maintenance services for a period of 25 years. The O&M responsibilities will cover preventive and breakdown maintenance, module cleaning, replacement of faulty components, insurance coverage, real-time online monitoring, and joint meter readings.
