Bijliride Launches FOFO Franchise Model to Democratize EV Entrepreneurship in India

Bijliride, India’s SaaS-powered electric two-wheeler rental platform, has announced the launch of its Franchise-Owned, Franchise-Operated (FOFO) model, marking a significant step toward democratizing electric vehicle (EV) entrepreneurship across the country.

Under this expansion model, Bijliride plans to scale its franchise network across Bengaluru, Mumbai, Chennai, and Delhi NCR, with a target of onboarding over 20 franchise partners and deploying 5,000 electric two-wheelers across India by FY2026. The initiative is designed to empower local entrepreneurs, SMEs, and mobility operators while enabling Bijliride to expand in a capital-efficient and community-driven manner.

Through the FOFO model, franchise partners gain access to Bijliride’s proprietary fleet management technology, along with end-to-end marketing, branding, and operational support. Supported by strategic tie-ups with OEMs and financial institutions, the model simplifies vehicle procurement and financing, lowering entry barriers for small business owners, fleet operators, and first-time EV entrepreneurs.

The franchise structure follows a 70:30 profit-sharing arrangement, ensuring shared success between Bijliride and its partners. With an initial investment of ₹14–16 lakh for a 50-vehicle fleet, franchisees are expected to achieve breakeven within approximately 13 months of steady operations. While Bijliride manages technology, lead generation, and brand governance, franchise owners oversee local operations, fleet performance, and customer engagement, creating a scalable and resilient ecosystem.

Commenting on the launch, Shivam Sisodiya, CEO & Co-Founder, Bijliride, said, “At Bijliride, our goal has always been to make electric mobility scalable, profitable, and inclusive. With the franchise model, we’re opening doors for local business owners to actively participate in the EV revolution, supported by our brand credibility, digital ecosystem, and operational know-how. This initiative will not only empower entrepreneurs but also accelerate India’s transition to clean mobility.”

With the rollout of the FOFO model, Bijliride aims to build a decentralised, inclusive, and sustainable urban mobility network across India. The initiative aligns with the company’s long-term vision of accelerating EV adoption, strengthening local entrepreneurship, and contributing to a cleaner and smarter mobility future.
