POWERCON® Group, a global leader in renewable energy (RE) asset creation and management, has released its ESG & Sustainability Performance Report, highlighting significant progress in its journey toward Net Zero and responsible business growth.
During the reporting period, POWERCON advanced its decarbonisation strategy across operations and the extended value chain, supporting a reduction of 5.6 lakh tonnes of CO₂ emissions. This was driven by improved energy efficiency, deployment of digital O&M technologies, and enhanced operational practices across renewable sites. The company also recorded strong year-on-year growth in energy generation, reflecting improved asset reliability and optimised field performance.
As part of its environmental priorities, POWERCON achieved a 60% reduction in plastic usage and reinforced a near 100% ban on single-use plastic (SUP) across offices, warehouses, and O&M sites. The company diverted 85% of total waste from landfills, refurbished 55% of components instead of replacing them, and powered 70% of its offices and operations using renewable energy.
On the sustainability and supply-chain front, over 40% of value-chain partners for critical components were onboarded, while 65% of suppliers now operate under circularity compliance. The company also reported 100% adherence to its Supplier Code of Conduct, supported by regular assessments and capability-building initiatives.
POWERCON’s social initiatives were further strengthened through its CORE Academy, where over 6,000 renewable energy professionals were trained, contributing to workforce development and India’s broader clean energy transition.
In governance, the company reported zero non-compliances, zero data breaches, and zero human rights violations, underscoring robust internal controls and transparent business practices.
POWERCON was recognised with the ‘EcoEdge’ Certificate of Recognition by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for effectively integrating sustainability into its operations. The company also recently achieved ‘Bronze’ certification under the Government of India’s ZED (Zero Defect Zero Effect) initiative, where “Zero Effect” signifies zero environmental harm.
Commenting on the ESG performance, Praveen Kakulte, CEO and Founder, POWERCON® Group, said, “Our journey towards Net Zero goes beyond offsetting emissions. Sustainability is now embedded across our business—from energy efficiency and circularity to ethical supply chains and workforce development. These milestones reflect the collective commitment of our teams and partners to building renewable energy operations that are responsible, resilient, and future-ready.”
Looking ahead, POWERCON plans to deepen its presence across major Indian renewable corridors, expand projects in Africa and Southeast Asia, and achieve an additional 5% reduction in GHG emissions across Scope 1, 2, and 3 by 2030. The company continues to align its systems with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 26000, ISO 50001, and SA8000, reinforcing its leadership in environmental management and ethical governance.
