Alpex Solar off-grid solar water pumping systems under PM-KUSUM scheme

Alpex Solar Ltd, a leading Indian manufacturer of high-precision solar PV modules and integrated solar energy systems, has secured a ₹65 crore (excluding GST) order from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for the supply of off-grid DC Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems (SPWPS) across Maharashtra.

The order has been awarded under the Government of India’s flagship PM-KUSUM B scheme, locally implemented as the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana. The initiative focuses on accelerating the adoption of clean energy in agriculture by enabling farmers to use reliable, solar-powered irrigation solutions while reducing dependence on grid electricity and diesel-based pumps.

Strengthening Solar Irrigation in Maharashtra

Under the contract, Alpex Solar will deploy solar water pumping systems in multiple districts of Maharashtra. As per the Letter of Empanelment, the complete execution of the project is scheduled to be completed within 60 days, highlighting the company’s strong operational and delivery capabilities.

Solar-powered water pumps are increasingly becoming a cornerstone of sustainable agriculture in India. These systems provide dependable daytime power for irrigation, significantly reduce operating costs for farmers, and contribute to lowering carbon emissions by replacing conventional energy sources.

Leadership Commentary

Commenting on the development, Mr. Ashwani Sehgal, Managing Director, Alpex Solar Ltd, stated that the order reflects continued confidence in the company’s manufacturing strength, engineering expertise, and ability to deliver large-scale solar projects within stipulated timelines. He added that Alpex Solar’s growing success in government-backed renewable energy programmes reinforces trust in its technology, quality standards, and execution capabilities.

Expanding Footprint in India’s Renewable Energy Market

Alpex Solar operates across a wide spectrum of the renewable energy value chain, including solar PV module manufacturing, EPC services, solar water pumping solutions, RESCO-based solar electricity projects, and international solar trading. The company continues to expand its presence nationwide, aligning closely with India’s long-term clean energy transition and energy security goals.

The latest ₹65 crore order is expected to strengthen Alpex Solar’s order book and support its growth momentum in the decentralised renewable energy and solar infrastructure segment, particularly in the fast-growing agricultural solar pump market.
