Shakti Pumps Strengthens Order Book with ₹356.77 Crore Solar Pump Award from MSEDCL

India’s solar-powered agriculture push under the PM KUSUM scheme continues to gain momentum as Shakti Pumps (India) Limited (SPIL) announced a major addition to its order book. The company has received a Letter of Empanelment / Letter of Award from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for the supply and installation of 12,883 Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems (SPWPS).

The order, valued at ₹356.77 crore, has been awarded under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana / PM KUSUM Component B, further reinforcing Shakti Pumps’ leadership position in India’s rapidly expanding solar irrigation market.

Strong Order Momentum in a Short Timeframe

This latest win comes amid an exceptional period of order inflows for Shakti Pumps. Over the past 15 days, the company has secured nearly ₹900 crore worth of new orders, reflecting strong demand visibility and sustained government focus on renewable-powered irrigation.

Earlier this month, the company received another Letter of Empanelment from MSEDCL for 16,025 SPWPS, valued at ₹443.78 crore, in addition to multiple smaller orders from states such as Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, and others. Together, these orders provide a healthy pipeline and clear revenue visibility for the coming quarters.

Driving Solar Irrigation Adoption in Maharashtra

Maharashtra has emerged as one of the leading states in deploying solar water pumps under PM KUSUM, and Shakti Pumps has played a pivotal role in this transformation. The newly awarded 12,883 SPWPS will support farmers by providing reliable, grid-independent irrigation, reducing dependence on diesel pumps and conventional electricity supply.

Solar water pumps not only lower operating costs for farmers but also contribute to carbon emission reduction, water-use efficiency, and improved farm productivity—key objectives of India’s clean energy and agricultural reform agenda.

Execution Capabilities Proven at Scale

Shakti Pumps’ execution strength was recently validated through its significant contribution to Maharashtra’s Guinness World Record achievement. The state successfully installed 45,911 solar water pumps in record time, one of the fastest and largest renewable irrigation rollouts globally.

As part of this initiative, Shakti Pumps installed 8,846 SPWPS in a single month, emerging as the largest contributor to the record-setting deployment. Industry observers view this achievement as a strong testament to the company’s supply chain strength, project management capabilities, and on-ground execution efficiency.

Leadership Perspective

Commenting on the latest order win, Mr. Dinesh Patidar, Chairman, Shakti Pumps (India) Limited, said:

“The recent series of large orders, including today’s ₹356.77 crore order, reflects strong demand momentum and validates our execution capabilities. These wins significantly strengthen our order book and provide clear revenue visibility.”

He further added that Shakti Pumps’ leadership position in Maharashtra, combined with active participation in tenders across multiple states, offers a clear runway for sustained growth.

“With a robust order book and a healthy pipeline, we remain confident of delivering strong performance and creating long-term value for our shareholders,” he said.

PM KUSUM: A Key Growth Driver

The PM KUSUM (Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan) scheme has emerged as one of the most impactful renewable energy programmes in India, aimed at empowering farmers while reducing the burden on state electricity utilities.

Under Component B, farmers receive support to install standalone solar pumps, enabling decentralised energy generation and reducing transmission losses. Large-scale deployments such as those in Maharashtra highlight the scheme’s growing maturity and execution scale.

For manufacturers like Shakti Pumps, PM KUSUM provides long-term demand visibility and opportunities to scale operations across multiple states.

Strengthening India’s Renewable Manufacturing Ecosystem

Shakti Pumps has consistently invested in manufacturing capacity, technology innovation, and localisation, aligning with India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision. The company’s strong presence in solar pumping solutions positions it well to benefit from increasing policy support for domestic renewable manufacturing.

With rising emphasis on sustainable agriculture, water efficiency, and clean energy adoption in rural India, solar pumps are expected to remain a key growth segment over the next decade.

Outlook

The latest ₹356.77 crore MSEDCL order further consolidates Shakti Pumps’ leadership in the solar pump industry and significantly enhances its order book strength. Backed by proven execution capabilities, a diversified state-level presence, and strong policy tailwinds, the company appears well-positioned to capitalise on India’s accelerating transition toward renewable-powered irrigation and rural energy solutions.

As PM KUSUM deployments continue to scale across states, Shakti Pumps’ ability to deliver at speed and scale is likely to remain a key competitive advantage in the evolving clean energy landscape.
